To start this quest speak to Kaqemeex who is located at the Druids' circle, north of Taverley. There are three main ways in which you can obtain herbs within RuneScape. There are advantages to each style; more practiced herbalists can use a combination of techniques in order to achieve maximum levels of stock. You can obtain herbs through: Through the use of the Farming skill, you can choose which herbs you want to grow (once the necessary seeds have been obtained, of course). Those who use this skill proficiently will be able to grow crops, as well as herbs and many other plants. For more information on Farming, please see the Farming section of the manual. Many monsters and other NPCs can be killed for herb drops. Herbs obtained in this manner will be grimy and will need to be cleaned in order to use them. Monsters that drop grimy herbs include: # Men and women # Thugs # Skeletons # Chaos druids # Slayer monsters the richer herbalists may buy herbs from people who have gathered stock using the above two methods. A lot of the herbs you find within the game will be grimy. To be able to use them you will first need to use your Herblore skill to clean them. To clean a herb, simply click on it with the left mouse button (or right-click on it and choose 'Clean' from the list of options). If you have the appropriate Herblore level needed to clean the herb, it will be ready to be used in making potions. As your Herblore level increases so will your ability to clean different types of herbs. - especially cave crawlers. Before a herbalist can start mixing ingredients together to make potions, they will also need to collect a number of secondary ingredients. These tend to be easier to obtain than primary herbs, but are a vital part of the potion creation process. In the Yanille Agility Dungeon resides Salarin the Twisted. He can only be defeated by elemental strike spells but, if you are successful, there is a chance that he may drop a sinister key, which is used to open the sinister chest in the skeleton room. Upon opening the chest you will get poisoned, so it is a good idea to bring along an anti-poison of some type. The chest contains a fixed set of nine cleaned herbs, which are: * 2 x harralander * 3 x ranarr * 1 x irit * 1 x avantoe * 1 x kwuarm * 1 x torstol What are the different types of poison and what are their symbols? There are four different strength types of poisons: * Weapon poison (p) * Weapon poison+ (p+) * Karambwan paste (kp) - Can only be used on spears * Weapon poison++ (p++) The damage that these cause increase as you go down the list, with super poison being the most potent. These can be used or found on weapons such as daggers, arrows, darts, throwing knives, and spear. Do stat restore potions restore Prayer, Mining, Smithing etc., or just Strength, Attack and Defence? Only super stat restore potions restore all stats. Ordinary restore potions only restore Defence, Attack, Strength, Magic and Ranged. The potions do not restore the stats to your base levels - they restore a set amount (see the potions table). How come my super attack potion was 4 doses? All potions are made as a 3 dose potion, but a vial will carry up to 4 doses. A player can combine potions with less than four doses to add them together (e.g. two 2 dose potions can be combined into a 4 dose potion, two 1 dose potions can be combined into a 2 dose potion, etc.). What is a super set? A super set is when a player has all three super potions; that is, super Strength potion, super Attack potion and super Defence potion. How do I fill a vial with water? Use an empty vial on a water source. If you have more than one vial in your inventory, you will automatically fill all of the vials with water. Which weapons can I add weapon poison to? Weapon poison can be used with weapons such as daggers, spears, arrows, throwing knives and darts. Where can I get herbs? Monster drops, especially from chaos druids under Taverley and in the Wilderness part of the dungeon below Edgeville.

It feels solid and comfortable in the hand and the way it displays photos, videos and Web pages on its gorgeous screen makes other smart phones look primitive. The iPhone's most controversial feature, the omission of a physical keyboard in favor of a virtual keyboard on the screen, turned out in our tests to be a nonissue, despite our deep initial skepticism. After five days of use, Walt — who did most of the testing for this review — was able to type on it as quickly and accurately as he could on the Palm Treo he has used for years. This was partly because of smart software that corrects typing errors on the fly. But the iPhone has a major drawback: the cellphone network it uses. It only works with AT&T (formerly Cingular), won't come in models that use Verizon or Sprint and can't use the digital cards (called SIM cards) that would allow it to run on T-Mobile's network. So, the phone can be a poor choice unless you are in areas where AT&T's coverage is good. It does work overseas, but only via an AT&T roaming plan. Should I Buy Into A Fund? -- Stock Invest (3) Mutual or investment funds are very popular nowadays. One basic difference between an individual trader and a fund is that the former plays with his own money, whereas the latter plays with other people's money. The following are the reasons why I won't buy into a fund: No Real Product The funds only sell you a dream that your investment will multiply for the long term. They package the dream in such a way that you think you own a bunch of good companies too. In this way, they sell you one dream on top of another. Dreams can evaporate so easily. Anchoring a dream to a good company will perpetuate it. Therefore, the selling points for a fund have to be: huge capital, technical expertise, diversified holdings in good companies, expertise in emerging markets and industries. Impressive indeed! Are they selling all of these to you or merely a dream nonetheless? If you can buy such impressive power, why can you still lose money in a fund? Lack of Responsibility Investment funds compete with banks for depositors' money. The banks have a real product to sell. They sell you a specified interest rate. You are guaranteed the interest payment even if the bank loses money. Thus, the banks are responsible for the products they sell. In many countries, your deposit is even insured by the government should the bank go under. The funds promise a dream that beat the banks' interests by many times. However, they are not responsible for the dreams they sell. You may win or lose, even losing all of your initial investment. What a cool business to be in! People give you money and a management fee. You produce nothing but a dream. Best of all, you are not responsible for the outcome. No wonder the banks are selling investment funds to their customers, too. In a market boom, the funds will report higher portfolio values to the customers. There is no real gain yet until you cash out. This means the dream gets inflated. The customers never question how much money the funds actually made, compared to how much was distributed to them. They have no choice but to accept a periodic report. In a downturn, the funds always blame the stock market or the economy as the scapegoat for the decreasing fortunes of their customers. It's never their fault to cause the customers to lose money. The strange thing is that the customers also accept what the funds say. Impressive but Irrelevant Information The funds are really good at packaging the dream they sell. Customers are given an impressive brochure with graphs and statistics. Most people fall into the trap of studying the materials and becoming convinced. You should think about what they don't tell you rather than savoring what they tell you. In addition, the funds are best in creating technicalities to protect themselves and impress customers. When facing technicalities hard to comprehend, customers tend to shy away or accept. Many even admire the complexity. Very few customers refuse to be bullied or conned by sales people using technicalities. Lack of Transparency In good times, the funds make tons of money each trading day when billions of dollars change hands at the stock market. The customers never bother to ask how much profit is made and how much is given back to them. Instead, they only receive a periodic report showing what the funds want them to see. In bad times, the funds still make plenty of money by shorting the shares as they fall. Don't you ever suspect that they know how to profit in a down market too? Who initiates a downturn in the first place? Is it some big player or the herd? The profits made by their short selling on each trading day are never transparent. Thus they pocket all the profits with your thinking that they lose money like you in bad times. Consequently, besides losing a cut of this short-selling profit, the customers also lose part of their initial investments, which are tied to the falling market indexes, as cleverly designed by the funds. In conclusion, I won't let any "experts" to play with my money without some reasonable guarantee of returns during good times. Also, I will not accept any loss if the market comes down. I always remember that I am giving them my cash, and cash is king. I dictate the terms, not they. That's why I will never invest in a fund. Who Can Manipulate The Market? -- Stock Invest (2) The existing environment in the stock market is conducive to manipulation as described below: Lack of Competition Let's take jeans and cell phones as examples, people have a wide choice of products and prices based on utility, need, and fashion. The sellers have to display the price clearly. It cannot charge an unreasonably high price for fear that the consumers will switch to another product. This situation fosters a competitive environment. The stock market does not have a physical product to sell. The share certificates made of paper have no utility value. The moving price results from continuous bids and offers between buyers and sellers influenced by news and emotions. When you buy a company's shares, you're just buying a dream. The company only serves as an anchor for that dream. The share price reflects what people think the dream is worth at the time of purchase. Their thinking is influenced by what they see and hear about the company. You don't own the company by buying its shares for you have no say whatsoever. The real owners are the few top shareholders who sit on its board of directors. How about competition between shareholders? The millions of small shareholders (or the so-called herd) don't buy or sell at the same time unless being somehow seduced or orchestrated. The herd will only begin to rush in after the big traders have made their first moves causing a significant change in price. When the millions of small shareholders start to move in, we'll see either a bubble or a stampede in the making. Do you think there is competition between big shareholders? They are fools if they choose to compete. Due to their small number, they will find a way to know each other, to consult and collude discretely. In this way, they can profit together without undercutting one another, but at the expense of the millions of small shareholders. Lack of Relevant Information In the case of jeans or cell phones, information about the product is so obvious because you use it and derive satisfaction out of it. The case is different with shares. There is no tangible product to speak of except your dream about the prospect of the company issuing the shares. You may have done a lot of research before you buy. How relevant is your knowledge about the company? All the information you get is news and statistics designed for public consumption. Do you think a big trader gets the same information as you? If I were a big trader, I would call the Chief Executive direct and ask about their business orders for the next few months. Better still, I would do it discretely. I would first make him my friend by inviting him to my parties or country club. I could easily get all kinds of insider information in a social environment direct from the horse's mouth. Lack of Transparency If deceit and manipulation of the market is to be avoided, transparency must be enforced. Do you think the stock market is transparent enough? Yes, to a very small extent mainly designed for public consumption. Does the market reveal the daily activities of big traders who can influence share prices? Does it explain why big traders can trade during after-hours while the public cannot? Big traders prefer not to use their names. Does the market reveal which companies represent big traders? Should the market become more transparent, the big traders would lose all their predatory advantages. They will never surrender this precious power. Why should they? Who make News and Rumors? When an analyst opines about a company, how much can you believe? Should you be prudent? You must realize that analysts are employed by finance companies, which are big traders waiting to make a kill. Analysts don't make buy and sell decisions like powerful fund managers. They are hired as mouthpieces for big traders to orchestrate public behavior with news and statistics, which can be interpreted either way they like. The smart analysts know that they serve their employers' profit motives. Only the less smart ones think that they are independent researchers. As you know, the people who believed in the analysts about Enron have all been burned. Zero-Sum Game In the case of jeans or cell phones, a condition exists where the consumers get satisfaction and the producers make good profits. Everybody becomes better off. The producers have the incentive to satisfy the customers. The customers continue to demand better quality. This is what we call a positive-sum game that should be nurtured by the capitalist system. In the stock market, no such condition exists. When somebody wins, someone else has to lose, which is the same as in the casino. This classic dog-eats-dog situation encourages manipulation and deceit to get out of the game alive. It is easy to tell who has the upper hand.
