Description Antique Japanese porcelain statue depicting the Daruma who is regarded as the founder of the Zen sect of Buddhism. The statue is in good condition with no chips or cracks though there are marks and scratches from handling and the statue wears a darkened patina of age. Only after the goal is achieved will the owner then paint in the second eye, symbolizing a realized goal. Daruma dolls which have completed their jobs as perseverance role models are normally then brought to a temple to be burned during special ceremonies set aside for this purpose. wheelchairrecycler needs our help

You've seen the standard power wheelchair before, and realize they don't go off road very well. As these one purpose machines start to get older, and fail they end up sitting, rotting, and being tossed into the local landfill. As his user name suggests, WheelchairRecycler does just that with those old often broken non working missing many parts power wheelchairs. Now, he just doesn't slap on a part or two and call it done. He rips these down to the bare frame and takes that apart as well. He then rebuilds a NEW machine able to handle off road conditions. He puts in more powerful motors, lights, and really cool tires as well as making the frame stronger and customized to each end users exact needs. Normally machines this nature form his sit chair options to his standing options, can range in price of around $6,000 and over $30,000 dollars for one new from a Durable medical Goods Dealer, and they can't even go off road, are not built to last as long, and only the more costly ones are customized for the eand user. Roughly for about $1,500 you can buy one from wheelchairrecycler made to order. The price covers ONLY the expense of making your ONE of a kind power wheelchair. If you need to sit in a particular way, he will make sure you can do it. Need something else that you can't seem to have done without paying a stupid price for it, he will hook you up. Sadly the issue is not people who do PAY for the very reasonable prices he charges. It's a few rotten people who promised to repay his kindness. One person for example wanted to go camping. Well how fun is camping on an asphalt parking lot? So, wheelchairrecycler hooked a supposed customer up with a ONE of customized wheelchair for this person who promised to pay for the wheelchair right after the camping trip. wheelchairrecycler, said OK... I know your wish is to go camping and your wanting to at least make sure the wheelchair will work for your needs out at camp. Now, of course wheelchairrecycler could have played Mr. Hard Nosed business jerk saying sorry no money no chair. That;s hard for him as you see he's making people's lives better with what he does. He can change someone's life for the better, and if you can't give them then chance to make it... Then that's just mean. Yes, saying NO does and can prevent things like this. But, could he look himself in the face in the mirror at night if he was that way? I bet not. The another person decided to leave their paid for wheelchair he made for them out in the rain and snow... And, says it's supposed to work or be repaired for free. Number one you don't leave these in the open ellements. They are not made to be like your car. They can shed some water while in use, they will finction in the snow while in use. Once parked they will need to be in a dry spot, and even wiped off to PREVENT damage the snow, and rain can cause over time. He has other people claiming his service is free becuase it's NON-PROFIT... All non profit means is you make back the amount of money spent doing what ever it was you did or do. And, he can even earn a paycheck for his time. It's not FREE for him to buy the materials, and the tools, and pay the bills for the power, heating and or cooling of the shop and the gas to use to pick up the old broken wheelchairs... Not to mention it only will take roughly $3,000 for his entire dream to go under. He's not making a profit on this to where he can BITE the bullet when people rip him off, or try to cheat services out of him. He does kind things not to be run over by cheats, and cheap skates who are disabled... He does it to allow people a chance to either pay off something over time, and or will do a free repair for someone for an honest issue NOT the direct fault of anyone. The parts, the time, and the fact that this all costs a little each time... Added up... Now he is at risk of going out of business... Help by making a REPLY video in support of his efforts. The painting was done on a rectangular sheet of stiff Japanese shikishi paper with gold trim at the edges. This nihonga painting is in good condition though it does have some small marks and the body of the piece is warped. A wonderful candidate for framing and display. Antique Daruma Buddhist Figure Japanese Zen Bodhidarma

Description Small, antique Japanese ceramic Daruma statue in good condition with some marks and scratches from handling and a darkened patina of age. The statue has some small pieces of metal sticking out of the top of the head which cause us to wonder if it may have once included a loop on the top of the head. This Daruma figure dates from the mid to late Japanese Showa period (1926-1989) and was acquired in the historic city of Shizuoka, Japan near the foot of Mt. Fuji. Please read below to learn about the history and legend of Daruma. More about Daruma "Life falls down seven times, yet gets up eight..." This popular Japanese proverb is commonly associated with the Indian Buddhist sage Daruma. Daruma is credited with the founding of the Zen sect of Buddhism, which he is reputed to have introduced into China during his travels there. Another story tells that his enlightenment occurred within a temple in China where he spent his seven years sitting in a room staring at a wall. Apparently at some point during his long meditation Daruma became so overcome with fatigue that he cut off his eyelids in anger and tossed them to the ground. These are reputed to have then sprouted into China's first green tea plants! It is said that Daruma's long meditation caused his arms and legs to wither and fall off, leaving him as an armless, legless and eyelidless (yet enlightened) Bodhidarma... The Japanese love this story and admire Daruma for his spirit and determination, and each new year many Japanese will buy a paper-mache Daruma tumbler doll in order to enlist its services in helping them persevere towards their own goals or achievements. The dolls are sold with unpainted eyes, allowing the new owner to paint in one eye to symbolize the start of a new goal or venture. The doll is then placed in a prominent place within the home or at work in order to remind the owner to keep after their aim. Japanese students especially utilize Daruma to motivate them with their studies; placing a one-eyed Daruma before them on their desk as motivation to work hard and make the grade. Only after the goal is achieved will the owner then paint in the second eye, symbolizing a realized goal. Daruma dolls which have completed their jobs as perseverance role models are normally then brought to a temple to be burned during special ceremonies set aside for this purpose. Okay so we have established working for a boss, although does not suit me, does suit some people. If that's you then go for it. We could buy a business or a franchise. But in most cases that's just buying a job, some call that just over broke, I call it Jump Outta Bed.... alarm clock and all. I have not needed to answer to one of those for a few years now, well not unless its to go fishing of course, then and only then can the alarm ring. If you happen to buy a business that has staff then that could be good, however if it can afford staff then the price to buy can be somewhat daunting. So for most that is out of the question. Here's the thing. There is no point exchanging Hours for dollars for your whole life. It is hard to save and it is hard to live. Come 60 or 65 when it is time to retire you have to live on half of what you couldn't live on when you were working. So it becomes obvious, one needs to find something else to do to make that extra money to live on now and for the future. So here is my answer.... if you work now then stay there and work and then at night instead of sitting back with your mouth open and a beer in your hand getting more and more unhealthy in both body and mind, walk to where your computer is, kick the kids off and find a way to make some money. There are more opportunities out there now than there ever has been. The tools are there the teachers are there. Will you get scammed a few times, probably, most of us who have been making a living off the Internet can probably boost to a few times being caught out, but that's okay. I suggest you find someone, ask them how they are making money, do as I have done and call them up on the phone, make sure they are real, get some references from them. Don't sit back and keep saying this is a scam, it may not be. How will you ever know. There are some mighty fine people out there in Internet land who cannot wait to help you, and show you what you need to know. Let me share more with you tomorrow.....
